I know this isn't in the right place,but there is not a dedicated place for my application.

If someone could look over this program and tell me if I am on the right track it would be greatly appreciated.

Small homemade electric kiln/heat treat oven making small recycled glass trinkets.
All times and temps are approximate and will probably be modified as I learn how this thing reacts.
I would like to keep the temps +/- 2°F if possible.


What I need to do:

Fire from ambient to 750°F at 300° per hour then hold for 30 minutes.

Ramp up from 750° to 1050° at 300° per hour then hold for 30 minutes.

Ramp up from 1050° to 1465° as fast as possible (will use 15 minutes) then hold. (open door to inspect project and to flash vent to 1030° before next step.)

Hold at 1030° for 120 minutes.

Ramp down from 1030° to 700° at 100° per hour. Hold at 700° for 60 minutes.

Turn off.


My program:

STEP 1: C01 = 750, T01 = 180
STEP 2: C02 = 750, T02 = 30
STEP 3: C03 = 1050, T03 = 180
STEP 4: C04 = 1050, T04 = 30
STEP 5: CO5 = 1465, T05 = 20
STEP 6: CO6 = 1465, T06 = -65 (I need ALM1 to sound when temp is reached.)
STEP 7: C07 = 1465, T07 = 0 (hold to inspect project. Flash vent for next step, If ready press down arrow to continue to next step.)
STEP 8: C08 = 1030, T08 = 120
STEP 9: C09 = 700, T09 = 210
STEP 10: C10 = 700, T10 = 60
STEP 11: C11 = 700, T11 = -121

Thanks for posting your question.

The parameter Hy-1 and Hy-2 need to be changed to 2.0, Hy can be kept at 0.3.

I modified the program as below:

STEP 1: C01 = 150, T01 = 120 (ramp from ambient to 150° asap, then timer starts, ramp from 150° to 750° in 120 min, speed 300° per hour)
STEP 2: C02 = 750, T02 = 60 (ramp from 750° to 1050° in 60 min)
STEP 3: C03 = 1050, T03 = 30 (soak at 1050° for 30 min)
STEP 4: C04 = 1050, T04 = 1 (ramp from 1050° to 1465° asap, timer would pause before temperature reaches 1465)
STEP 5: CO5 = 1465, T05 = -66 (pull in relay AL1 when temp is reached, and jump to step 6.)
STEP 6: CO6 = 1465, T06 = 1 (hold at 1465° for 1 min, this is a necessary transition step)
STEP 7: C07 = 1465, T07 = 0 (hold to inspect project. Flash vent for next step, If ready press down arrow to continue to next step.)
STEP 8: C08 = 1030, T08 = 120 (soak at 1030° for 120 min)
STEP 9: C09 = 1030, T09 = 198 (ramp down to 700° min 198° min, speed is 100° per hour)
STEP 10: C10 = 700, T10 = 60 (soak at 700° for 60 min)
STEP 11: C11 = 700, T11 = -121 (stop all output, and jump back to step 1, standby)

Please review/try this program. Let us know if there is any problem in running it.
