1. Why my coil cannot be heated up by my RDK controller? 

If you are using a third-party, non-Auber heating coil, please confirm if your heating coil has a compatible XLR pin assignment. Incompatible coils cannot be used and cannot be heated up by RDK controllers. Using incompatible heating coil may also damage your coil and/or RDK controllers. 

Here is the pin assignment for RDK-200/RDK-300 controller, which is the one of the most popular pin assignments on the market:

Pin1, Pin2: AC power-in for coil
Pin3: Thermocouple +
Pin4: Thermocouple -
Pin5: Ground

If you can find a multimeter, you can use it to check the resistance on the male XLR connector on your coil. For 100W coil, you should get around 100 Ohms between pin 1 & 2, around 10 Ohms between 3 & 4. Open between 1 & 5, 2 & 5, 3 & 5, 4 & 5. This method can also be used to test if your coil is good or bad.
