This is a very versatile multifunction temperature controller for household to have. It can be used for cooking sous vide (with a slow cooker or rice cooker), controlling a electric smoker, making yogurt, proofing dough, control the temperature of a table top toaster oven, converting a freezer to a low temperature incubator for beer formation or sour dough yeast storage.
This controller is essentially the same controller as our “Sous Vide Cooking Controller, Deluxe (model WS-1500E) ” except the following difference. 1) it has 6 steps programmable temperature setting for cooking that needs to be started at one temperature and finished at another. It is a useful feature for electric smoker. 2) The cable of standard temperature probe for this model is three conductors, 6 ft long. (It is the same sensor as PT100S except a three pin connector is installed.) It is can be used for either sous vide cooking or smoker control. If you prefer the probe for sous vide controller only (it has a thin and short cable) please select the option in the bottom of this page. If you need a smaller thermal mass probe for fast air temperature control, or a probe for a high temperature range application (450-750F or 250-400C), please contact us.
The general guideline on whether an appliance can be controlled by this controller is, 1) it is for heating and cooling. 2) it draws not more than 15A at 120VAC. 3) it does not have its own digital electronic controller. 4) It will start to work when the on/off switch is on, without the need for pressing any other keys.
