The KIT-RSRTD is a retrofitting kit designed to control the coffee water temperature on a Rancilio Silvia espresso machine manufactured after May 2000 and before May 2006*. The manufacture date of Silvia is printed in the last row of the label on the bottom of the machine. If it reads 0506, it means it was made in May 2006. The newer machines do not have threaded screw holes. If you have a newer machine or an old machine installed with a newer boiler, you need to select the other retrofitting kit (KIT-RSRTDNb) with an RTDstat sensor.

Main Feature. The coffee water temperature in the boiler of a home espresso machine is originally controlled by a bi-metal thermostat, which causes a big temperature swing. The KIT-RSRTD PID controller kit replaces the function of the mechanical coffee thermostat. After the kit is installed, the standby brew water temperature can be controlled to within ±1° (F or C) accuracy. Thus, it will significantly improve the taste and consistency of your espresso. Users can see the boiler temperature on the PID controller directly and also easily adjust the brew water temperature to suit their own tastes.

LED display color. The digital LED display module is available in red or white.
Temperature unit. Select the preferred temperature unit so that all parameters are pre-set properly for you.
Power input. The kit is compatible with both 110VAC and 240VAC power.
