This AW-TD130 plug-n-play temperature controller with WiFi connectivity is designed for applications such as beer fermentation or kegerator. It has one power output for cooling control and another for heating control. Utilizing both cooling and heating device control, refrigerators can be controlled at specific temperatures regardless of the environmental climate. Users can get access to their controllers through the AuberWiFi App via internet connection. 

No wiring is required for this plug-n-play controller. A user only needs to plug in the power cord from heater/cooler to the output sockets on the controller. Both the heating and cooling control modes make use of a simple on/off control. This controller is similar to the control mode of a mechanical thermostat but with much higher precision due to the adjustable hysteresis band, precise temperature sensor, and digital readouts. In addition, an anti-short function has been provided to protect the compressor from cycling on/off during high-pressure Freon. 

Unlike other two-stage temperature controllers with economic NTC/PTC thermistor sensors, a digital silicon band gap sensor is used in this controller. The advantage of this digital sensor is its reliability in moist environments than a thermistor sensor. It can be fully immersed in water over extended periods of time without any issues, and perform with more precision and uniform accuracy over an entire specific temperature range. 

Note: this controller is only compatible with a silicone bandgap sensor. It is not compatible with PT100 RTD sensors.

Two temperature sensor options are offered:

1). Free hanging style sensor. 2” and 14” sensor tip length options are offered. This sensor uses food-grade silicone insulation cable rather than PVC jacket used on most of the other sensors on the market. Silicone is safer than PVC for food application, especially when immersed in solutions that contain alcohol (The flexible PVC contains plasticizer that is easier to leach out in alcohol, while silicone does not.). Silicone also will withstand higher temperatures. 

2). Tri-clamp sensor with Teflon braided cable. The probe has a 4" length and the diameter of its flange is 1.988" (or 50.5mm). This probe works with all tri-clamp systems that use this size flange, including 1", 1 1/2", 25 mm, 33.7mm, and 38 mm systems (In other words, 1", 1 1/2", 25 mm, 33.7mm and 38 mm systems have the same flange dimension.). The included braided cable comes with two layers of Teflon insulation that is strong and weather-resistant. The braided cable adds an extra layer of metal braid between the Teflon layers for more protection.

WIFI Function:
This controller can be operated via your smartphone through the Wi-Fi connection. The app-based control feature gives a sense that your controller is always in your pocket. And now, it's easier than ever to control all the features remotely and directly on the AuberWiFi app from your smart device. (As a good analogy, the difference between the web and app-based interface is just like the experience of finding the local weather information by using a weather app or by browsing the weather.com). Such advantages of using app-based control include:

1) Remote access. Using the AuberWIFI app, you are able to check/change the temperature set point and all the parameters at any time from anywhere, as long as you are connected to a cellular or WIFI internet. You will be able to monitor the device when you are not near the controller. 

2) Easy to view and analyze performance. Our app offers graphic plots to show the temperature data over the time. You can also export the data to a CSV file for further analysis.
 
3) User-friendly interface. Setting up control parameters through your smartphone is an easier and quicker alternative than the traditional keypad. Through the keypad and two-line display, you may need to refer to its manual to recheck the parameters from time to time again. But with the innovative AuberWIFI app, the function and setting range of each parameter will be denoted on the screen to save the hassle of maneuvering the device. 

4) An integrated solution. The AuberWIFI app gives the user a sense that their phones are integrated as a part of their controller. The system has more functions and is easier to operate.  Moreover, you can manage multiple devices from the Auber WIFI Device family just with a few clicks. Instead of using one app for only one device model, our smartphone app acts as the central control hub for different types of AuberWIFI devices, giving you a better user experience than web-based interfaces of other Wi-Fi-enabled devices.

*Compatible sensors & cables: TD-SENSOR (Free hanging), TD-SENSOR14 (14" Free Hanging), TD-SR-LT (Liquid tight probe), TD-SENSOR-TriC (Tri-clamp probe), TD-Cable1 (Braided cable with connectors on both ends). This controller is not compatible with the PT100 RTD sensor.

Note:

  • The controller can display temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit.
  • Unlike the PID controller we sell, this on/off controller will not hold the temperature as tight if the system had a very slow and delayed response. Some temperature overshoot is normal.
  • Either the heating or the cooling device is limited to 10 Amps. The output voltage is the same as the input voltage.  When the controller is plugged into 120 VAC, the output will be 120 VAC. If the controller is connected to 240 VAC, the output will be 240 VAC also.
  • The input power plug is a US NEMA 5-15P plug. The output sock is a US NEMA 5-15R socket. Optional input & output travel plug adapters are offered. Please check here for more details.
