PID KIT for Gaggia Classic Pro & Classic & Home w/ pre-infusion

Important: This kit is compatible with the latest Gaggia Classic EVO Pro (released in 2023, see Note 6 at the bottom before placing the order) and Gaggia Classic Pro (released in 2018/2019) models, including the regular version (RI9380, 120V, or 240V) and the European version with an energy-saving module (RI9480, 240V). Please see the compatible model list below (Note 1 at the bottom). European model Gaggia Classic 2015 (RI9403, 240V) is NOT compatible. Please check KIT-GGX-EU instead.

Features in KIT-GGP:

• Pre-infusion timer and pump control
• Steam temperature control.

• Compatible with both 120 VAC and 230 VAC power.

Pre-infusion Timer. This kit includes a programmable pre-infusion timer that helps improve extraction consistency by wetting the coffee grounds before full-pressure brewing begins.

The timer has three adjustable stages:

• Tp – Pre-infusion pulse
• Td – Soak time
• Tb – Brew time

Each stage can be adjusted with 0.1-second resolution.

Press the ">" key to start the brewing sequence. Press it again at any time to stop the pump. The original brew switch can still be used for manual operation.

Two types of pre-infusion timers are available. Red LED (Special Edition) and White LED (Special Edition) have the newly released COUNT-UP timer. Please see a short video here. The standard white LED has the COUNT-DOWN timer. The functionality of the special edition is the same as the regular version, other than the timer. 

Steam Temperature Control. The steam temperature control function maintains boiler temperature within a much tighter range during frothing than the factory thermostat, reducing temperature fluctuations and minimizing the need for temperature surfing.

Operation remains the same as the original machine — simply turn on the steam switch. The steam-on and steam-off temperatures are user adjustable.

Brew Water Temperature Control. The KIT-GGP replaces the factory coffee thermostat with a PID controller that maintains the brew water temperature within ±1° (°F or °C). The stable temperature improves espresso flavor and shot-to-shot consistency while allowing easy adjustment of the brew temperature to suit different coffees and personal preferences.

The controller displays the boiler temperature in real time, preserves the original operation of all machine controls, and can be removed at any time to restore the machine to its original configuration.

Box Color. Two enclosure colors are available:

• Silver – Clear-anodized aluminum enclosure with a brushed stainless-steel front panel.
• Black – Durable powder-coated enclosure.

LED Display Color. Red and white LED display options are available. A blue LED display is available upon request/inquiry.

Red and white LED color options are offered. (The blue LED color option is available upon inquiry.)

Optional Add-on Items.  

• An Extra Jumper Wire. An optional wire is available for the Gaggia Classic Pro European model (RI9480, 240V), which is equipped with an energy-saving module that turns off the machine if it is idle for about 20 minutes. It disables the automatic power-off function. This add-on is NOT required for RI9380 models.
• Coffee Kit Mounting Bracket. This is an additional Coffee Kit Mounting Bracket (ACC-CKM) for attaching the PID controller back to the rear panel of a Gaggia Classic machine. This small accessory not only saves horizontal space on the counter, but it also provides a user with great flexibility in adjusting the viewing angle.
