This PID controller set is for controlling the temperature of a medium to large size backyard smoker, a 55-gallon drum-style smoker, or an off-set type smoker. This system contains a 20 CFM blower that is more powerful than the other system we offer.
Auber’s SYL-3615 Wi-Fi BBQ controller is our newly released BBQ controller on November 2020 with two major changes:
- A new Wi-Fi module that allows push-notification, OTA updates, and many other potentials. Compatible with mesh routers.
- The total number of probes has been increased from 2 to 3.
With these two hardware changes, we can bring a few great improvements compared to the previous model (SYL-2615):
- Newly added alarm (push) notifications straight to your phone.
- Improved compatibility with Wi-Fi routers.
- Faster data transfers and better Wi-Fi signal reception
- Over-the-air (OTA) update capability. Keeping your device always up to date.
- Accept three temperature probes instead of two. One pit probe and two food probes to ensure an easier experience of monitoring the cooking process.
- 6 cooking profiles and 6 cooking steps in each profile
- More flexibility in controlling the cooking process: starting/stopping the cooking process and/or jumping to a step whenever you want.
- Added secure mounting hooks.
Other than these big improvements, the new SYL-3615 has inherited all the features of its predecessor, the award-winning SYL-2615, which includes:
- The ability to monitor and control the cooking process remotely from your smartphone on the App.
- Well-tuned PID control algorithms that achieve and maintain tight control of the pit temperature.
- A variety of parameters allow users to fine-tune the device per their cooking preferences.
- Able to adjust fan output by either time-proportional control (for fine temperature tuning) or by fan-speed control (for minimizing the ash).
- Automatically detects lid openings and pauses the output.
- Exports/retains cooking temperature statistical data for up to 10 hours.
- Durable temperature probes with stainless steel cables over-braiding and high-temperature Teflon wires (720°F/380°C).
What’s included
• 1 x SYL-3615 controller
• 1 x Pit probe with a mounting clip (WS-SENSOR17)
• 1 x Food probe (WS-SENSOR18A)
• 1 x probe at your choice (either WS-SENSOR18A or WS-SENSOR22)
• 1 or 2 x 20 CFM blower (BL-20)
• (Optional) 1 or 2 x Ball Valve Adapter.
• (Optional) 1 x Y-splitter (if you choose 2 x 20 CFM blowers)
• 1 x AC to DC power adapter (12V, 1A) for 1 x 20 CFM blower

Parts included in this set (default package)
Probes in this kit:
Pit probe: WS-SENSOR17. Free hanging design that measures the pit temperature that allows you to control the smoker. (Max temperature: 720°F/380°C)
Meat probe (standard): WS-SENSOR18A. It has an L-shape with a pointed tip. By default probe option, we will ship one sensor18A with a green connector and one sensor18A with a red connector. (Max temperature: 720°F/380°C)
Meat probe (fish probe): WS-SENSOR22. It has a thin and small tip, the sensor22 is suitable for small pieces of meat, such as fish and sausage. (Max temperature: 400°F)

Blower and Blower Mounting Option:
This control set includes one 20 CFM blower, which is recommended for high-temperature smoking (300F or higher) or extra large-size smokers. To mount this blower to your smoker, you may also need a mounting ball valve adapter.

Ball Valve Adapter for Blower (optional)
Showing pictures of adapters for both 6.5 CFM and 10&20 CFM Blowers. The Ball Valve Adapter for 10&20 CFM Blower is suitable for the blower in this kit. |
Accessory Option: If you want to use 2 of the 20 CMF blowers, you'll need a Y-splitter cable (DCcord4).
Power Adapter Option: The default power adapter can supply 1A current at 12VDC, enough to drive a 20 CFM blower, which draws about 0.7A at 12VDC. However, if you need to drive 2 of the 20 CFM blower, you'll need a power adapter rated for 2A at 12VDC. This option is not available at this moment. But you can consider PA-DD1 or PA-DD2 if you already have DeWalt battery packs.

• If you have DeWalt® power drill or other power tools that use DeWalt® 20V Max battery packs, PA-DD1 and PA-DD2 power adapters will allow you to power our charcoal smoker controllers with the same battery.
• Optional 12V Li-ion battery pack can be purchased from other vendors (Amazon Link). Auber has tested this 12V/8300mAh battery pack, which has enough capacity to power our BBQ controller with a fan for a regular smoking or BBQ process.

**: A 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is required.
If your router has a 2.4 GHz band, this controller should be compatible. Nowadays, most modern WiFi routers on the market are dual-band/tri-band and most likely they have a 2.4 GHz band. If you have difficulties in pairing our controller to your router, please check your router's admin page to make sure its 2.4 GHz band is enabled and properly set up.
